Here is our Step-by-step Carpet Cleaning Process
After our “FREE” Inspection and survey here are my carpet cleaning steps designed to get the best finish possible:

Rake carpet fibres
This releases the matted pile.

Pre-vacuum
I pre-vacuum all areas to be cleaned. Studies show 70% of soil in your carpets can be removed in a dry state.
Our vacuum system is not your ordinary vacuum, ours is run through our extraction equipment thus its dry soil removal abilities are phenomenal.

Pre-conditioning
I spray all areas to be cleaned with a safe and powerful pre-conditioner. This pre-conditioner emulsifies and suspends soil, making it easier to remove in the extraction process.
The products and cleaning agents I use are the very best available and are industry specific.

Agitation
The pre-conditioner is agitated to loosen soil embedded deep in the carpet that most vacuums miss.
This also helps to raise the crush marks from heavy foot traffic, table legs etc.

Extraction with Acidic Rinse
I use Hot Water to extract the soil and pre-conditioner from the carpets. During this process I incorporate a mild acidic rinse instead of just plain water. This acid rinse helps to rinse away the soils and pre-conditioner to ensure you the cleanest, softest and most residue free carpets possible. (Residue left in the carpet makes it sticky and allows soil to stick to it making it appear dirty much faster.) Our acidic rinse is designed to remove as much of the residue as possible from our cleaning process and past cleanings.
This means that your carpets will be cleaner and stay cleaner for longer, the colours are left vibrant, sharp and sparkling clean and your carpet will be dry in a fraction of the time it normally takes.
All of the dirty water is extracted into a waste tank in the back of our van and is taken safely away and not put down your loo or sink !!

Grooming
Carpets are groomed to help raise the crushed nap from heavy foot traffic and allow better air flow through the carpet fibres to better aid drying.
Pile must be correctly set whilst damp.

Turbo Drying
I use specially designed Fans to force dry all areas cleaned.
In most cases areas cleaned are completely dry by the time we leave the job site. The convenience of this is obvious, with fast drying carpets, essential areas can be put back into use within a few hours of cleaning.
Furniture is replaced when necessary and placed with our protector pads or blocks.
Frequently Asked Questions about Carpet Cleaning
Do you move furniture?
Yes I can move furniture. I normally move, clean and put back as I go along. I don’t move heavy flat based furniture or large screen TVs.
How long will my carpet take to dry?
This depends on a number of factors. How soiled the carpet is. How dense the carpet fibres are. The weather. My truck mounted cleaning system will leave the carpet touch dry normally. It is important to give the room air flow with a window open so your carpet should be dry in 2 to 4 hours.
Can I walk on my carpet after cleaning?
Yes you can walk on your carpet. I will supply you with pairs of blue overshoes so you do not mark your clean carpet.
Will all my stains come out?
With over 35 years experience I can tell if a stain is permanent or fixed. With the correct techniques most stains can be removed but no carpet cleaner can guarantee complete removal of all stains.
I have heard that once you have had your carpets or upholstery cleaned, it get’s dirty quicker?
This can happen with unsuitable cleaning systems. You can be assured that due to my training and many years of experience, I will use the correct cleaning system. Some systems are unsuitable for certain purposes and will leave sticky residues which accelerate re-soiling which defeats the purpose of cleaning the carpet. I also rinse out the fibres to leave a neutral PH using a mildly acidic rinse, that conditions the fibres and fabric.
I’ve heard that steam cleaning can damage my carpet?
Absolutely not, in fact Shaw and DuPont Industries as well as other carpet manufacturers prefer this method. It’s considered to be the only way to remove deep soiling and other embedded contaminants.
Will my carpet shrink?
Some types of carpet are prone to shrinkage. I will advise you at the time of survey. Measures will be taken to prevent any shrinkage, so don’t worry. If the carpet is fitted professionally, the problem should not arise.
